
Women's Cross Country Competes at NCAA Regional

BRONX, N.Y. – Sophomore Lucy Van Kleunen (Philadelphia, Pa.) and rookie Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.) both posted top-30 finishes as the Brown women's cross country team placed eighth overall at the NCAA Northeast Regional Friday at Van Cortlandt Park.
Brown completed the race with 209 points, while Iona claimed the top spot with 91 total points.
Van Kleunan, who was the top finisher for the Bears at the Ivy Championships, placed 21st overall in a time 20:57.07. Schudrowitz took 27th as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 21:05.88.
"It was exciting to have a sophomore and freshman finish one-two," said Tim Springfield, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. "They ran well up front. Also Abigail Jones really stepped up as a fifth runner today."
Junior Lydia Davenport (New York, N.Y.) and senior Leah Eickhoff (Hanover, N.H.) finished 44th and 46th, respectively, crossing the finish line in times of 21:25.78 and 21:26.90. Jones finished 71st in a time of 21:44.82 to round out the Brown scorers.
In addition, freshman Megan Ratcliffe and junior Lily Harrington (West Hartford, Conn.) finished in times of 22:25.19 and 22:34.82, respectively.
