Women's Soccer Nets Four All-Ivy Selections

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's soccer team earned four All-Ivy selections in an announcement made by the Ivy League office on Wednesday. Brown garnered one Second Team and three Honorable Mention selections in 2014.

Freshman center back Maclaine Lehan earns Second Team All-Ivy accolades after logging all 1,594 minutes this season as a crucial cog of the Brown defense. Considered a rare feat, the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts native never left the field once during her inaugural campaign, starting in all 17 contests. Lehan is the first rookie to earn All-Ivy recognition for the Bears since Lindsay Cunningham in 2005.

Midfielder Charlotte Beach (New Haven, Conn.) earns Honorable Mention recognition for the second consecutive season after posting two assists this season. Beach, a tenacious competitor, has appeared in all 51 games over her first three seasons on College Hill, starting in 40 of those matches.

Carly Gould (Hampton Falls, N.H.) had an impressive sophomore campaign for the Bears in 2014, ranking second on the team with three goals, netting her Honorable Mention honors. Gould deposited the game-winning goal on Sept. 7 against Delaware and registered a career high eight shots against Sacred Heart on Sept. 24. She also found the back of the net against Bryant and Cornell this season, running her career total to four goals.

Another back, senior Anastasia Gillen (San Clemente, Calif.) earns her third All-Ivy recognition and first Honorable Mention selection after posting two assists and solidifying the Bears' backline this season. A two-time Second Team All-Ivy and 2013 NEWISA First Team All-New England selection, Gillen, a Political Science concentrator, led the 2013 Bears with six assists, good for third overall in the Ivy League, and helped backstop the Bears defense to a 1.08 goals-against average and six shutouts in 2013.
