First half goals from Carly Gould and Sydney Calas lifted the Brown women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over Bryant on a rainy, raw Wednesday on Bulldog Soccer Field.

The Bears hold a 13-8-6 edge in the all-time series as the teams meet for the 28th time on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
The Lions enter Saturday's contest unbeaten in their last seven outings (5-0-2), including a 2-1 win over Fordham last Sunday in the Bronx. Columbia's lone defeat came on Sept. 7, a tough 2-1 defeat at the hands of Army. A balanced attack led by seven different goal scorers have gotten the Lions off to a hot start in 2014 under first-year Head Coach Tracey Bartholomew. Coleen Rizzo and Madeline Linde pace the Lions with a pair of goals each, while goalkeepers Grace Redmon and Gabby Dudick have split duties between the pipes. Columbia has kept opponent off the scoreboard early in matches thus far, outscoring the competition 5-0 in first halves this season.
THE LAST TIME VS. COLUMBIA
(10/5/13) - Seniors Amber Bledsoe and MC Barrett split time in net to earn the combined shutout as the Brown University women's soccer team drew even against Columbia, 0-0, on Oct. 5 at Columbia Soccer Stadium.
CALAS AND REILLY FIND THE BACK OF THE NET
Sydney Calas and Allie Reilly each notched their first goals of the season on Wednesday in Brown's 3-1 win over Bryant. For Reilly, it marked her first strike since Sept. 2, 2011.
WALDMAN FINDS THE SCORESHEET
With her assist on Erin Katz's game-tying goal on Sunday, freshman Mikela Waldman (San Francisco, Calif.) tallied her first point since recording a goal and an assist in the season-opener at St. John's on Sept. 5.
CROSS NETS #20
Senior captain Chloe Cross' (Seattle, Wash.) goal in the 47th minute on Sept. 24 versus Sacred Heart was the 20th tally of her career. She currently sits in a five-way tie for first in the Ivy League with four goals.
YANT LEADS LEAGUE IN SAVES
Senior goalkeeper Malloy Yant (Fenton, Mo.) recorded her first career shutout in Brown's 2-0 win over UMass on Sept. 18. Yant currently leads the Ivy League with 34 saves.
SHUMWAY COLLECTS FIRST WIN
Freshman goalkeeper Rylee Shumway (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted her first career start on Wednesday at Bryant, collecting her first collegiate win after making three saves and surrendering just one goal.
FRESHMEN CONTRIBUTIONS
Six of the seven Brown freshmen have logged important minutes for the Bears this season, combining for 15 total starts in nine games.

The Bears return to action on Tuesday for a non-conference tilt versus Quinnipiac at Stevenson Field beginning at 7 p.m.
