LAST TIME OUT
Brown played Harvard to a 1-1 draw last weekend at Stevenson Field. Ben Maurey scored early in the second half to tie the game after the Crimson scored in the 16th minute to open the scoring. Jack Gorab assisted on the goal, starting the play with a corner kick. Mitch Kupstas made five saves for the Bears in net.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell enters Saturday's contest at 8-4-1 overall and 1-2 in the league. After dropping a pair of 1-0 games to open Ivy play, the Big Red knocked off Yale, 1-0, at home last weekend. Conor Goepel scored the lone goal in the game at 81:12 and Zach Zagorski made four saves to earn his eighth shutout of the season. Goepel ranks third in the league in goals (6) and fourth in points (15). Zagorski leads the league in save percentage (.878) and goals-against average (0.46).
ZINGAS NAMED ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman Louis Zingas was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Oct. 20, earning the honor for the first time in his career. Zingas helped solidify the Bear defense and recorded his first goal to forge a tie against Boston College. Zingas' first collegiate goal with just under 10 minutes left in regulation helped Brown to the tie against the Eagles. Zingas then helped Brown end Harvard's winning streak with a 1-1 tie.
LAST TIME AGAINST CORNELL
Brown downed Cornell, 1-0, on the road in last year's meeting between the two teams. Tariq Akeel scored the lone goal of the game with just 20 seconds left in the first half, while Daniel Taylor picked up the assist.
BATTLE OF THE GOALIES
Saturday's game between Brown and Cornell will feature the top two goalkeepers in the Ivy League. Cornell's Zach Zagorski leads the league in save percentage (.878) and goals-against average (0.46), while Brown's Mitch Kupstas ranks second in both categories at .780 and 0.99, respectively. Kupstas has five shutouts this season.
