PROVIDENCE, RI – Junior women's lacrosse standout Paris Waterman (Newark, DE) was named 2010 First Team IWLCA North All-Region. One of 128 student-athletes from across the country honored, Waterman is one of 10 Ivy League student-athletes to earn First Team All-Region honors.
A First Team All-Ivy honoree, Waterman had a breakthrough year
for the Bears, while becoming one of the most marked midfielders in
the League. Despite drawing the opposition's defensive
attention for the majority of the season, Waterman finished the
year ranked second on the team in points (39), goals (33), and
assists (6), all career-highs. Her 39 points from this season is a
mark that ranks 19th all-time at Brown, while her 33
goals rank 10th all-time at Brown for goals in a season.
The junior also led Brown with 33 ground balls and with 17 caused
turnovers, and was second on the team with 24 draw controls.
Waterman scored at least one goal in all 15 of Brown's games,
including 10 multi-goal games and four games with at least three
goals. She had some of her best games against Ivy opponents,
compiling 20 points (19g, 1a) in League contests.
