PROVIDENCE, RI – Sophomores Kaela McGilloway (Sea Cliff, NY) and Isabel Harvey (Baltimore, MD) have earned Ivy League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, for their role in helping to lead Brown to a 3-0 week. The Bears won three games in a span of six days, all on the road, while improving to 7-4 on the season.
McGilloway led Brown with 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in the
three wins, including a career-high 10 points (5g, 5a) on Sunday
against Manhattan. On Tuesday, as Brown captured the
inaugural Ocean State Cup with a 19-4 win over Bryant, McGilloway
posted seven points (3g, 4a), what was then a career-high for
points in a game. In Saturday's victory over Columbia,
McGilloway scored a goal and assisted two, as the Bears earned a
14-12 win over the Lions. The next day against Manhattan,
McGilloway bettered her career high with a 10-point game, scoring
five goals and assisting five in a 17-9 Brown victory. For the
week, the sophomore had just one turnover. She leads the team in
scoring with 40 points (26g, 14a) on the season. Her 14 assists are
one shy of entering Brown's top-10 list for assists in a
season, while her 26 goals are six shy of entering Brown's
all-time top 10 for goals in a season.
Harvey also helped to lead the Bears to an unblemished record for
the week with scintillating play in the nets. In Tuesday's
19-4 win over Bryant for the inaugural Ocean State Cup, Harvey
posted five saves, allowing just two goals, in 36 minutes to earn
the win. On Saturday against Columbia, the sophomore goalie made
six pivotal saves, as Brown won its second Ivy game of the year to
stay alive in the hunt for the post-season tournament. For the
encore on Sunday, Harvey made eight stops, allowing five goals in
43:47 against Manhattan, a 17-9 win. Harvey posted an 8.17 GAA and
a .500 save percentage on the week.
