Bronx, NY- The No. 19 ranked Brown men's water polo team wrapped up a 3-0 weekend with a 16-8 victory over Fordham on Sunday at the Messmore Aquatics Center.
Rookie James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) led Brown's attack with five goals and one assist, while senior Corey Schwartz (Los Angeles, CA) knocked in three to improve Brown's overall record to 12-4 and move to 5-1 in the Northern Division.
The Bears gained a 5-3 advantage after the first two quarters, and went off to score 11 goals in the final two quarters while holding the Rams to just five to earn the win. Walker Shockley had another outstanding day for Bruno in the cage, registering 11 saves this afternoon.
"It was a good way to finish three tough games on the road," said Head Coach Felix Mercado. "We still have one league game left, so our work isn't done just yet. I know the team is looking forward to the next couple of weeks to get some work done."
Nine different Bears scored this afternoon, as Ryan Gladych (Corona Del Mar, CA) followed behind Schwartz with two goals. Toby Espinosa (Palo Alto, CA), Gordon Hood (Carlsbad, CA), Brandon Yoshimura (Haverford, PA), Michael Hartwick (Los Angeles, CA), Grant Villeneuve (Atherton, CA) and Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) each tallied one.
Forham was led by Mikey Edwards' three goals, while Alex Powell put in two. Fordham's Christian Flessner earned six saves in goal.
