
No. 23 Brown Men's Soccer Challenges No. 16 Boston University

The No. 23 ranked Brown men's soccer team will take on the No. 16 Boston University Terriers at 7:00 p.m. tonight at Stevenson Field. The Bears have yet to be beaten this 2009 campaign, entering tonight's contest with a 4-0-3 record. Boston University is coming off two wins this past week and boasts a 6-2-1 record.
Since its season-opening tie against Lehigh, the No. 23 Bears won
their next four consecutive games and has ended the last two in 1-1
double overtime draws in matches against Santa Clara and San
Francisco. Senior midfielder Nick Elenz-Martin (Encinitas, CA) put
in Brown's lone goal in the 82nd minute against Santa Clara,
and freshman defender Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL) tallied a goal
in the 81st minute of play against San Francisco. The rookie earned
Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for his performance out west,
and is second on the team in scoring with five points (2g, 1
assist). Goalkeeper Paul Grandstrand (Orono, MN) owns a 4-0-3
record in net, and has recorded three shutouts in 665:21 minutes.
The No. 16 ranked Boston University men's soccer squad is
coming off two victories over Holy Cross and the University of
Rhode Island last week. Junior Aaron O'Neal was recently
named the America East Player of the Week, and was also placed on
Soccer America, College Soccer News and TopDrawer Soccer's
Teams of the Week. He ranks 20th in the nation in points per game
(1.78) and 19th in goals per game (0.78) and has tallied seven
goals and two assists this season. BU goalkeeper Hrafn Davidsson
(6-2-1) has recorded five shutouts this season and has allowed just
four goals in 830:00 minutes.
