Kingston, RI – The Brown men's soccer team (4-0-1) dominated the University of Rhode Island (2-4-0), 5-0, on Saturday evening at the URI Soccer Complex. Sophomore Austin Mandel (Tarzana, CA) led the Bears' offense with two goals, as rookie Dylan Remick (Inverness, IL), sophomore Evan Coleman (Amherst, MA) and junior Jon Okafor (Verona, NJ) each tallied one apiece.
Brown lit up the scoreboard first just 17 minutes into the game
after Remick headed one past URI goalkeeper Chris Pennock on a
junior captain David Walls (Leeds, England) corner kick. Then, just
one minute later, Coleman received a pass from sophomore Sean Rosa
(Montreal, Quebec) and sent a low shot to the right of Pennock to
increase Brown's lead to 2-0 in the first half.
Okafor put the Bears up 3-0 at the 33:29 mark after nailing a shot
to the left corner after receiving a pass from senior T.J. Thompson
(Atkinson, NH). The Bears tallied 10 shots in the first 45 minutes
of play, as Bruno held onto a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

fourth goal at the 57:17 mark. Mandel went on a break-away and put
one in, and then posted another just three minutes later to put the
game away at 5-0 with a shot to the bottom left corner. Senior
midfielder Nick Elenz-Martin (Encitinas, CA) crossed the ball to
Okafor, who then headed it to Mandel for the goal.
