Bears Set to Open 2009 Fall Season at Holy Cross

PROVIDENCE, RI - Under the leadership of head coach Keely McDonald '00 and senior tri-captains Bethany Buzzell (Middletown, MD), Kara Kelly (Garden City, NY), and Kiki Manners (North Potomac, MD), the Brown women's lacrosse team is set to open the 2009-10 season this Saturday, October 10, at Holy Cross. The Bears will participate in their first challenge of the new year in the fall play day, the first of three events scheduled for this fall.

Brown will face three teams in three 45-minute scrimmages. The Bears open with host Holy Cross at 10:00 and then face Sacred Heart immediately following, at 10:50. Brown closes the day against Marist at 1:20.

The Bears will close out their fall season with back-to-back home events. Brown hosts Boston College on October 31 and then ends with the annual Brown vs. White Scrimmage on November 4 at 6:00 p.m.
