Sport: Gymnastics
Year Inducted: 2014
A two-time NCAA Regional qualifier and five-time Ivy Classic champion, Rocchio routinely made program history for the Brown gymnastics team during her four-year career. Rocchio was named the Ivy League Player of the Year in 1990, leading Brown to the Ivy League championship.
Rocchio began her career with a bang, taking home ECAC Rookie of the Year accolades following Ivy Classic titles on vault and All-Around. Her first-place vault finish set a new Ivy Classic record and she finished second on bars, fourth on floor and fifth on beam. Her Ivy Classic performance proved no fluke, as she qualified for the ECAC Tournament in All-Around and claimed fifth place.
Rocchio’s sophomore season brought two more Ivy Classic crowns, this time on the floor and vault by setting new Ivy Classic and Brown gymnastics records. She placed fourth in the All-Around standings, sending her to the ECAC Tournament for the second season in a row.
Junior year brought even greater success, highlighted by Rocchio becoming the first Brown gymnast in 10 years to qualify for the NCAA Regionals. She set new Brown scoring records on floor and All-Around while earning All-Ivy Classic honors for a second-place finish in the All-Around.
Rocchio continued her record-setting ways as a senior, winning the Ivy Classic vault title with new Ivy Classic and Brown records. She qualified for the ECAC Tournament for the third time in her career and secured a trip to NCAA Regionals for the second straight season, joining a select group of Brown gymnasts to accomplish such a feat.
Rocchio resides in Franklin, Mass., with her husband, Brad Sidwell ‘92, and their three boys. Rocchio currently works as an independent consultant, providing finance and accounting consultation services to start-up and developing companies in the technology industry.
