The Wellness & Performance Team at Brown Athletics is a team of 30+ professionals with expertise in Sports Medicine, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Performance, Sleep Science, Mental Performance, Mindfulness, and more.
Our mission is to empower Brown student-athletes to thrive in competition and in life.
We take a whole-person approach, incorporating the latest science showing that student-athletes who are part of a supportive community and who embrace habits that promote well-being and performance, are happier, more resilient and more likely to achieve their goals in school, sport, and life.
We surround our student-athletes with experts who are committed to supporting, guiding, and coaching them throughout their athletic journeys at Brown.
As part of this, we regularly hold workshops for our student-athletes on a variety of topics related to health and performance, and we actively promote a culture of well-being that empowers our student-athletes to thrive in competition and in life.
As a student-athlete at Brown you will have access to:
Expert medical care and support.
A multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in nutrition, sports performance, athletic training, sleep & recovery, mindfulness, strength & conditioning, mental well-being, and more.
The Headspace app for mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and sleep health.
The TimelyCare app for 24/7 access to licensed mental health professionals who can help with a wide range of needs, including academic and athletic performance.
Workshops led by experts in a variety of areas, including nutrition, mindfulness, stress resilience, sports performance, mindset, recovery, and sleep.
New and established tools and techniques in sports medicine and sports performance, including compression boots, dry needling, cupping, red light therapy, force plate technology, percussion therapy, wearable technology, and more.
Opportunities to become a student-athlete leader in well-being and performance.
An extensive support network across campus, including but not limited to, our partners in BWell Health Promotion, Health & Wellness, Student Support Services, the Chaplains Office, and the Mindfulness Center at Brown.
