Ervin Szucs joined the Brown fencing coaching staff in 2013 andwill assist Head Coach Atilio Tass with all aspects of the program.Szucs brings extensive playing and coaching experience at thecollegiate, club and Olympic levels.
A native of Hungary, Szucs began his coach career at theCsomorkány Fencing Club in 2000 and has since gone on tocoach at various high level clubs and camps in the United State andHungary. Szucs has also mentored many nationally-prominentcompetitors, including a handful of Junior Olympians and three-timeHungarian Olympic team member Andras Peterdi.
Szucs earned a fencing coach degree from Semmelweis Univeristy.A three-weapon master, he holds certifications in epee, foil andsaber in addition to certifications as a referee and armorer.
As a competitor, Szucs placed as high as second in the HungarianNational Point Standings. He is currently the CEO of InternationalFencing Management and a coach for Extreme Fencing Studio inProvidence.
