Jill DePetris joined the Brown staff as an assistant coach forthe women's lacrosse team in August of 2009.
"Jill is a powerful addition to Brown Lacrosse and I am thrilledto welcome her to Brown University and our program," said McDonald."She has had impressive playing and professional experiences thatwill allow her to impact our student athletes on her very first daywith the team. Jill displays her passion for the game and life ineverything that she does. Her energy is infectious. I have nodoubt that she will help Brown lacrosse and the current playersuphold our high standards of excellence and execution both on andoff the field."
DePetris joins the Brown staff after spending the past two seasonsas an assistant at St. Joseph's. While with the Hawks, DePetris wasinvolved in all aspects of the program, including recruitment,scouting of opponents, practice planning, and team travel. Duringthe 2009 season, she helped lead St. Joe's to a 10-8 record, as theteam posted the most wins in its history, while making itsfirst-ever appearance in the Atlantic-10 Championship Final. Theteam also ranked fourth in the NCAA in caused turnovers and 10th inscoring defense.
In addition to her duties on the St. Joe's staff, DePetris alsocoached for Phantastix Club in Radnor, PA and has worked severalsummer camps, including Villanova, STX Lacrosse, and Syracuse.
A 2007 graduate of Syracuse with a B.S. in Sport Management andHospitality Management, DePetris was a four-year starter for thewomen's lacrosse team, earning Second Team All-Big East honors as asophomore and a senior. As a midfielder, she was the eighth personin school history to reach 100 points and was second in the BigEast and 18th nationally in assists as a senior. During her senioryear, she helped to lead Syracuse to win its inaugural Big EastChampionship, while helping to lead the Orange to two NCAATournament appearances (2005, 2007). DePetris was also a four-timeBig East Academic All-Star and was the recipient of both theEnthusiasm Award and the Doris Soliday Award in 2007.
DePetris received an MBA from St. Joe's in 2009 and currentlyresides in Providence.
