Meredith Ward joined the Brown women's basketball coaching staffin the summer of 2012. A four-year varsity letterwinner inbasketball from Holy Cross and a native of Westerly, R.I., Wardearned a Bachelor of Arts in economics.
Ward competed in all 34 games during her senior season,averaging a career-best 30.4 minutes and 6.1 points per game. Shenotched four double-digit scoring outings, highlighted by adouble-double against UMass on Nov. 22, 2011. Against theMinutewomen, Ward scored 14 points and grabbed a career-best 12rebounds. She helped guide her team to a 19-15 overall record and a7-7 mark in the Patriot League, while also helping the Crusaders tothe Patriot League championship game and earn a spot in the Women'sBasketball Invitational (WBI) quarterfinals.
A two-time team captain, Ward was named the 2012 SamanthaVellaccio Award recipient, which is presented annually by the HolyCross Varsity Club to the women's basketball player who bestexemplifies the mission of Holy Cross both on and off thecourt.
