Born in Providence, RI. Nyrel grew up 10 minutes from the Brown University campus, and subsequently moved to southeastern Massachusetts. Nyrel attended Bristol Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in General Studies (transfer program) in 2016. He then attended Bridgewater State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2019. He has been in practice and licensed as an Athletic Trainer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for over 5 years.
Prior to starting at Brown University Athletics in 2021, Nyrel worked with Southcoast Hospital Group as an Injury Prevention Specialist and an Athletic Trainer where he provided consultation and expertise to a local Junior College. Nyrel has worked with a number of NCAA Division 1 programs at Brown Athletics, including the two-time 7s National Champion women’s rugby team.
