Nicole Peterson was hired as an assistant coach in February of 2025. Peterson joins Brown having spent the last four years working with Revolution Volleyball in Phoenix.
During her four years at Revolution Volleyball, Peterson served as an assistant coach, a lead clinician and eventually a head coach. Peterson led the team to goal medals in both 2021 and 2022 and a silver medal in 2024.
Peterson was on the volleyball staff at Grand Canyon University as an assistant coach for the 2023 season. While on staff, Peterson helped Grand Canyon go 23-8, 13-3 in the WAC and win the WAC Tournament to make the NCAA Tournament.
Peterson started her career as a graduate assistant coach for three seasons at Arizona State University after playing for the Sun Devils for four seasons. At Arizona State, Peterson was primarily a setter, leading the Sun Devils in assists in two of her four seasons and finishing second on the team in the other two. Peterson was also named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention for the 2018 season.
Prior to ASU, Peterson played volleyball and tennis in Portland, Oregon, at Jesuit High School. She earned numerous prep accolades, including 2015 Max Preps National Player of the Year, 2015 High School All-American and 2015 Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year. In 2014 and 2015, she was named the Oregon Player of the Year, Metro League Player of the Year and State Championship MVP. She led her team to state titles in 2012, 2014 and 2015.
