Veteran administrator Karla A. Gacasan, Ph.D. joined the Brown Athletics staff as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Human Resources in March 2022, overseeing evaluating systems and procedures; hiring, and talent development.

Gacasan joined the Bears after five seasons as the Assistant Athletics Director for Human Resources at Auburn.

At Auburn, Gacasan oversaw and directed the athletic department's human resources functions and developed and implemented a performance management system specific to Auburn Athletics. She also developed Auburn's mentoring program, and employment and recruiting process specific to the collegiate athletics industry standards.

Before her time at Auburn, Gacasan was the Associate Athletics Director for Human Resources at Cincinnati from 2014-16. She was the Senior Labor Relations Specialist from 2010-14 at Cincinnati and held various roles at UC since 2009, as well as Convergys Corporation and Humana, Inc.

A three-time graduate of Cincinnati, she earned her bachelor's in Human Resources Management, master's in labor and employment relations, and a Ph.D. in educational studies.
