One of the most familiar and friendly faces in Meehan Auditoriumis crowd-favorite, Hermano Fortes, who has been Brown's head iceman since the 1998-99 season. Entering his 24th season as part ofthe Meehan crew, Fortes is responsible for the maintenance of theice surface. In addition, Fortes is head custodian at MeehanAuditorium and handles general functions and maintenance of thefacility. Prior to taking over head responsibilities in the fall of1998, Fortes was the Assistant for nine years.

When the temperature in Meehan drops, visitors will find Forteswarm and engaging. Always ready with a pleasant smile or greeting,Fortes is most popular between periods when is entry onto the icewith the Zamboni is greeted with a hearty cheer.
