Peter Weatherby became an assistant coach of the Brown golf programs in July of 2026.
PGA Professional and Rhode Island native Peter Weatherby joined the Brown University Golf Program as a full-time assistant in July of 2026. He is a Class A PGA Professional who was born in Newport and raised in Portsmouth, R.I.
Weatherby has served as a PGA Professional at The Jupiter Island Club (Hobe Sound, Fla.), The Misquamicut Club (Watch Hill, R.I.), Old Sandwich Golf Club (Plymouth, Mass.), Ekwanok Country Club (Manchester, Vt.), and Manchester Country Club (Manchester, Vt.).
Having competed as a full-time professional on many developmental tours, Weatherby still competes in many PGA events in an effort to learn and study professional golf.
He has also spent time working with one of the sport’s most renowned instructors - Andrew Rice - teaching both professional and amateur golfers in Savannah, Ga.
“My focus and passion in competitive golf is the mental side of the game,” Weatherby said. “Understanding that each individual player has different strengths and weaknesses mentally that can elevate their games to the next level. Self talk, controlled focus, narratives/expectations, mindfulness, flow state. These are all key elements to have awareness of while competing at the D1 and Professional Levels.”
A 2010 graduate of Endicott College, Weatherby currently resides in Portsmouth, R.I.
