Shea Dwyer comes to Brown after two season as a member of the MIT football coach staff, where he was the program's offensive coordinator, as well as the wide receivers and quarterbacks coach and the team's strength coordinator. Dwyer will coach the wide receivers at Brown.
Dwyer earned his Bachelor of Science degree in government from Wesleyan in May 2010, followed by his Masters of Liberal Science in December 2012.
As an undergraduate, Dwyer was a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, which is awarded annually to the Division III Player of the Year. A four-year letterwinnner at Wesleyan, he earned All-American, All-East Region, All-New England, All-ECAC and All-NESCAC honors while also claiming a New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award. Dwyer is the program's single-game and single-season rushing record holder who participated in the 2010 Division III Senior Classic All-Star Game.
Prior to coaching at MIT, Dwyer coached at Muhlenberg College (Pa.), where he served as an assistant coach from 2014-2016 working with the team's tight ends. His team posted a 17-5 record over those two seasons, earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and finished ranked in the top 25 in 2014. Dwyer coached a First Team All-American tight end who tied for the national lead in touchdown receptions by a tight end in Division III. He also was responsible for weekly film breakdown and analysis, daily recording of practice and film and working with HUDL to upload and analyze game film.
In addition to his experience at Muhlenberg, Dwyer has also coached at Wesleyan University (Conn.) and at the high school level.
