Incident Reporting

Athletics Statement
The Department of Athletics is a microcosm of the Brown community. As the University endeavors upon a Diversity and Inclusion Action plan, so too must the Department of Athletics engage in the meaningful work of ensuring all student-athletes, coaches, and staff are able to thrive in an environment representative of the larger community and beyond. These efforts must include reflection and careful consideration of departmental practices, including recruitment of student-athletes, hiring and retention of exceptional coaches and staff, and community outreach and engagement.

Ivy League Statement on Diversity & Inclusion
When the Ivy League was formally established in 1954, one of its defining principles was a commitment to access and opportunity exemplified by need-based financial aid. Another was that its recruited athletes be academically representative of each institution’s overall student body. More than 60 years later, the League continues to adhere to these principles, and the student bodies of its members – along with their faculties and staffs – have become increasingly diverse in multiple ways. An expanded commitment to diversity and inclusion today stands as a core value of all eight Ivy schools. This commitment applies to all of their activities, including all aspects of their athletic programs, ranging from the recruitment of students to the hiring of staff, and it plays a central role in enabling the Ivy schools to achieve their missions of educational excellence, research and service to others.
NCAA Office of Inclusion
As a core value, the NCAA believes in and is committed to diversity, inclusion and gender equity among its student-athletes, coaches and administrators. We seek to establish and maintain an inclusive culture that fosters equitable participation for student-athletes and career opportunities for coaches and administrators from diverse backgrounds. Diversity and inclusion improve the learning environment for all student-athletes and enhance excellence within the Association.
