Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Takes Part in Swim Across America
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Saturday, Sept. 10 the Brown men's and women's swimming & diving teams combined to form "Team Brown University" and raised
$11,435 for Swim Across America – Rhode Island at Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett, R.I. The Bears were one of six collegiate teams to raise over $10,000 to support the Oncology Research and Treatment center at Women & Infants Hospital.
The event brought together collegiate teams from around the area, which included Bryant, Roger Williams, Providence College, University of Rhode Island, Assumption, Boston University, Holy Cross, Northeastern, Wesleyan and Connecticut, as well as many other local swimmers all raising money to support the cause.
Swim Across America - RI supports cancer treatment and research efforts at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence.
