Emily will explore the effectiveness of the current plan and suggest changes in schools and legislators could undertake to improve screening.
Natalie Ball '16 (Basketball)
"PeacePlayers Summer Basketball"
Natalie will work with the non-profit organization in Northern Ireland that uses sport to unite and improve health and well-being of young people.
Josephine Darpolor '16 (Rugby/Track & Field)
"Timeline of Tumor Growth/Elite Athletes Surviving Cancer"
Josephine will be working at Roger Williams Hospital to develop a timeline of tumor growth in response to a known method that cancer cells have of evading the immune system.

"Turn Two: A Pipeline for Donating Athletic Equipment to Local Communities"
Lauren will work with community leaders, coaches, administrators, and compliance officers at local universities and colleges to understand ways to create a sustainable pipeline of sports equipment to local community centers and schools.
Lauren Levy '16 (Swimming & Diving)
"Two-Dimensional Geometric Control of Chondrogenic Differentiation for Cartilage Cellular Engineering"
Lauren will investigate the effect of physical cues from geometric constraints on chondrogenesis for improved differentiation for therapeutic application.

"Sport and Public Health Curriculum"
Both Uzoamaka and O’Sha will explore how physical activity has been used as a vehicle to engage and support middle school students in the classroom.
Ellise Sharpe '16 (Basketball)
"Examining the Dietary Allergies of Elite Athletes"
Ellise will survey and interview sports nutritionists, professional athletes, and national team members in the United States and England to understand how these elite players cope with food allergies.
