Men's Lacrosse 2026 Season Preview
2/11/2026
The Brown Bears open the 2026 campaign with a trip to Connecticut to take on the Fairfield Stags on Saturday (Feb. 14).
Head coach Jon Torpey enters his second season at the helm of the program with 36 returners and 15 newcomers on the roster.
The Bears will play 13 regular-season games in 2026, split between seven home games and six road games.

2025 Recap
The Bears are coming off a 2025 season in which the Ocean State Cup returned to College Hill. Brown earned wins over Providence College and Bryant to take home the hardware.
Brown also picked up a road rivalry win over 16th-ranked UMass last season behind Jeremy Hopsicker’s game-winner with eight seconds remaining.
The Bears look to flip the script in 2026 after suffering four losses but three goals or fewer in 2025.

The Schedule
Brown takes on 13 opponents, split between six Ivy League and seven non-conference foes, in 2026.
In non-conference action, Brown welcomes UMass, Bryant, and UMass Lowell to Stevenson-Pincince Field and travels to take on Fairfield, Providence College, North Carolina, and St. John’s.
The Bears take on St. John’s and UMass Lowell for the first time in program history in 2026. Conversely, Brown and UMass meet for the 57th time in series history.
Brown opens Ivy League play on the road against defending National Champion Cornell (Mar. 14) and concludes conference play on April 25 at home against Yale.

Key Returners
Brown’s 2026 roster features 36 returners from the 2025 roster, including four of the five leading scorers from a year ago in Marcus Wertheim, Ben Scandone, Jeremy Hopsicker, and Brady O’Kane.
Defensively, the Bears return goalie Connor Foley, who played 84% of all minutes in 2025. All-American Charlie Cave and Trey Taylor headline the returning defensemen from 2025.
