
Women's Tennis Spring 2026 Season Preview

Brown women’s tennis officially begins their spring season on Saturday when they host Portland at 1 p.m. inside the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears continue their homestand on the 25th against Holy Cross at 1 p.m., and a double-header on the 31st against Johns Hopkins at 10 a.m. and Stonehill at 4 p.m.
Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser enters her seventh season leading the program, joined by assistant coach Cristelle Fox in her second season and Jurence Mendoza in his first.
This year’s roster consists of one senior, three juniors, three sophomores, and three freshmen.

The Schedule
The Bears start their spring season at home, then travel to Princeton, N.J., to compete in the ECAC Championship from Friday, Feb. 6, through Sunday, Feb. 8.
The following weekend, Brown plays Baylor in Cambridge, Mass., on Feb. 13 and Boston College in Weymouth, Mass., on Feb. 15.
The Bears return to Providence after the five-match road trip for a three-match homestand against Seton Hall (Feb. 20), URI (Feb. 21, also the Mental Health Awareness match), and Marist (Feb. 28). Brown will travel back to Boston, Mass., for a match against Boston University on Mar. 1.
Brown hosts Stony Brook (Mar. 8) before heading to Florida to play South Florida on Mar. 23 at 5 p.m. and FGCU on Mar. 25 at 10 a.m.
Brown travels to New Haven, Conn., to open Ivy League play against the Yale Bulldogs on Mar. 28 at 1 p.m. The Bears will host Bryant at home next at 1 p.m. (Pink Out Match) before traveling to the Big Apple to face Columbia (Apr. 4) and Cornell (Apr. 5). The Bears will make one more stop back in Cambridge, Mass., on Apr. 10 to face Harvard at 2 p.m.
Brown wraps up the regular season with a three-match Ivy League homestand: Dartmouth (Apr. 12, Youth Day), Penn (Apr. 18), and Princeton (Apr. 19, Senior Day).

Returning Players
Freshmen Abigail Lee, Chloe Qin, and Francesca Saroli will make their spring season debut. Sophomores Bella Hu, Ali Maguy, and Sari Woo return for their second spring season. Juniors Dani Ben-Abraham, Hannah Shen, and Anne Yang are back for their third year. Senior Anne Moody begins her fourth and final season.
In fall competition, Maguy led the team in singles with a 10-5 record. Freshman Abigail Lee finished 9-5 in singles play.
In doubles, Dani Ben-Abraham and Abigail Lee paired up for a 6-5 record during tournament season. Anne Moody and Ali Maguy went 6-6 as a duo.

Newcomers
Three freshmen are set to make their debut as Brown Bears this season.

Abigail Lee is from Deerfield, Illinois, and attended Deerfield High School. She is ranked as a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network.
Chloe Qin is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and attended Cranbrook Kingswood. She is ranked seventh nationally by USTA and a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network.
Francesca Saroli is from Key Biscayne, Florida, and attended Laurel Springs School. She was named a Swiss Olympic National Talent as a junior and was twice awarded Athlete of the Year by the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy.
