Ellie Parker Named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Freshman goalkeeper Ellie Parker of the Brown field hockey team has been named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, the Ivy League announced on Monday afternoon.
This past weekend, Parker and the Bears won two games to push their winning streak to five games. First, the Bears took down previously unbeaten Cornell, 3-1 (Oct. 3). Then, Brown earned a 1-0 win over Maine (Oct. 5)
Against Cornell, Parker made four saves before making four saves against Maine. The Andover, Mass. native has started all nine games for Brown this season, she has a 1.03 goals against average and a .786 save percentage. Parker's save percentage ranks 11th nationally and her goals against average ranks 10th nationally, both rank second in the Ivy League.
Parker has four shutouts this season as she is averaging 3.78 saves per contest.
Parker and the Bears will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on Penn on Friday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. before heading to Boston University on Monday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
