Football Collects 11 All-Ivy Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Ten members of the Brown football team have combined to earn 11 All-Ivy League honors as the league announced its postseason awards on Tuesday. Three players combined to earn four First Team honors, one took home Second Team laurels, while six were named Honorable Mention.

In addition, senior offensive lineman Justin Anagonye was named Academic All-Ivy League.
Brown finished the 2023 season 5-5 overall, its best mark since 2015, and finished tied for fifth in the Ivy League at 3-4, its most league wins since 2016.
FIRST TEAM
Connolly started all 10 games this season, primarily at guard, and helped anchor an offensive line that helped Brown rank second in the Ivy League in total offense at 396.0 yards per game, and lead the league and rank sixth nationally in passing offense (300.0 ypg). He played 784 total snaps, and did not allow a sack on any of his 431 pass attempts at left guard.
A fifth-year senior, Rockett earns a pair of First Team selections in 2023 as both a wide receiver and return specialist. He previously earned Second Team All-Ivy honors in both 2021 and 2022 as a wide receiver. He finishes 2023 with 70 receptions, the 11th-most in single-season program history, and 795 receiving yards, which ranks 19th at Brown. He ranked second in the league this season in receiving yards per game (79.5) and led the league in all-purpose yards (121.2 ypg). Rockett concludes his career at Brown among the program's all-time leaders in several categories, including receiving yards (9th/2,055), receptions (7th/176) and touchdown receptions (t-8th/14). On special teams, Rockett led the Ivy and ranked 12th in FCS with an average of 12.0 yards per punt return.
On the defensive side, Reed earns his second career All-Ivy honor after leading the league with five interceptions and 13 passes defended this season. His 0.5 interceptions per game this season are tied for fourth in FCS Football. He had two picks in Brown's win at Penn, including a game-saving interception in the end zone in the final minute of regulation, and added a pick-six against Yale.
SECOND TEAM
Willcox finishes the 2023 regular season leading all of FCS Football with 292.4 passing yards per game and ranks second in total offense with 301.7 yards per contest. His total passing yards (2,924) ranks sixth in single-season program history and his 456 pass attempts are the second most in single-season program history, just 11 shy of the record held by Head Coach James Perry from 1999. He completed 62.50 percent of his passes, the sixth-highest single season mark in program history.
Willcox also ranks third in the league and 44th nationally in points responsible for per game with 11.4.
HONORABLE MENTION
Brown had six athletes earn Honorable Mention accolades, the first All-Ivy honors for each.
Owen tied for fifth in the league with eight total touchdowns, rushing for 37.50 yards per game. He rushed for three touchdowns at Harvard on Sept. 24 while adding in a season-high 54 yards receiving.
Lane totaled 29.0 total tackles, including a team-leading 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks to go with four QB hits a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Philbin chipped in 34 tackles (19 solo), 1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
Moorhead ranked fifth on Brown with 45.0 total tackles and totaled 3.5 tackles for loss. He tied for the team lead with five QB hits and added a crucial blocked extra point in overtime against Princeton, that helped the Bears win the game.
Parker ranked second on the team in tackles with 51 (team-high 39 solo), added 2.0 tackles for loss. He tied for second in the Ivy League with 10 passes defended and tied for third with three interceptions.
On special teams, Alley averaged 38.6 yards per punt, planting 12 of his punts inside the 20. He also served some time throughout the season as the Bears' place kicker.
