PRINCETON, N.J. – After an opening weekend that saw the Bears take consecutive overtime wins at Goldberger Family Field, junior Imogen Govan and senior Jodie Brine were selected as the Ivy League's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
For Brown, it marks the first weekly sweep of the conference awards since Ellie Seid '19 and Corinne Condie '20 picked up Player and Rookie of the Week honors in September 2016.
Govan picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals, including the overtime winner, and adding an assist in Brown's 4-3 overtime win over 24th-ranked Miami on Sunday.
Brine picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors after combining to stop 10 shots in Brown's wins over St. Francis and Miami.
The program's win over 24th-ranked Miami (Ohio) marked the first victory over a ranked opponent since 2013. Brown knocked off 14th-ranked Louisville in overtime at Goldberger Family Field with a 2-1 win.
The 2022 Bears continue non-conference play on College Hill this weekend as cross-state rival Bryant (0-3, 0-0 AE) arrives on Friday (Sept. 9) for a 4 p.m. start. On Sunday (Sept. 11), Brown hosts Northeastern (1-2, 0-0 CAA) at Goldberger Family Field.
