
Governor’s Cup Press Conference to be Held this Thursday at State House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A press conference will be held at the Rhode Island State House this Thursday, September 29 at 1 p.m. ahead of this weekend's Governor's Cup football game between Brown and the University of Rhode Island.
Rhode Island governor Dan McKee will be joined by Brown head coach James Perry, URI Coach Jim Fleming and players from both teams to speak on the significance of the game, and Saturday's matchup.
The 40th Governor's Cup football game will be held this Saturday at URI's Meade Stadium with kickoff set for 6 p.m. The game will be the 106th all-time meeting between Brown and URI on the gridiron. Brown holds an all-time record of 73-30-2 against the Rams, with Rhody holding a 20-19 edge since the Governor's Cup was presented for the first time in 1981.
