Women's Rugby Hosts Brown 7s Sunday at Berylson Family Fields

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's rugby program hosts the 2022 Brown 7s Tournament on Sunday, April 10 on Berylson Family Fields.
Sunday's matches are scheduled to begin at 9:20 a.m. and continue through the Grizzly Cup Final at 3:20 p.m. All matches will stream on ESPN+. A complete schedule of matches and team rosters can be found in the program.
Twelve teams from nine universities and colleges will meet in Providence this Sunday, with a total of 18 pool matches scheduled between 9:20 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. Following pool play, another 12 matches will be played, with the Grizzly Cup Championship match at 3:20 p.m.
Brown, Army, Quinnipiac, and Sacred Heart 1 comprise the Grizzly Division, marking three familiar foes for the Bears. Brown will take on the top Sacred Heart squad at 10 a.m., Army's squad at 11:20 a.m., and Quinnipiac at 12:40 p.m. All three of Brown's matches will be played on Field 1.
The remaining eight teams are grouped into the Kodiak Division and include teams from AIC, Bowdoin (2), Colby-Sawyer, New Haven, UNE (2), and Sacred Heart.
Outside of AIC and Sacred Heart, the Kodiak Division is made up of teams competing in Division II and Division III of the NIRA. New Haven is the lone D2 team with Bowdoin, Colby-Sawyer, and UNE competing at the D3 level.
In addition to the 30 scheduled matches, there will be a food truck on site for the majority of the day. There are several other Brown events around Berylson Family Fields on Sunday afternoon; the Brown baseball team hosts Columbia at noon at Murray Stadium and the women's tennis team hosts Princeton at noon on the Varsity Tennis Courts.
