19 Bears Named to NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – An impressive 19 Brown Bears earned spots on the 2021 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, announced earlier today by the NFHCA.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

In addition to the 19 selections, Amanda Cooper, Emma Rosen, and Danielle van Rootselaar earned recognition as four-year selections to the National Academic Squad.

Cal, Duke, Fairfield, and Iowa all placed 24 student-athletes on the National Academic Squad to lead the nation. Columbia led the Ivy League contingent with 23 selections with Penn placing 22, Dartmouth placing 21, and Harvard placing 20. Brown and Yale placed 19 student-athletes on the list with Cornell (18) and Princeton (16) rounding out the group.

In total, 1,379 student-athletes representing 78 programs were named to the National Academic Squad. Brown is one of 31 programs to place 19 or more student-athletes to the 2021 list.
