Field Hockey Announces Coaching Additions

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Field Hockey program announced two coaching additions, effective immediately. Megan Shea-Poli joins the staff as an Assistant Coach while Tia Rogers joins the staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

"I am thrilled to have Megan joining our staff," head coach Jill Reeve said. "Megan brings an abundance of coaching experience and a passion for the game that I'm excited about. She's highly respected in the coaching community and we are lucky to have her join us at such an important time for our program."

Shea-Poli joins the Brown staff after five seasons as the head coach of the Merrimack College Warriors. Shea-Poli oversaw the transition to Division I for the Merrimack field hockey program, serving as head coach for two years at the Division II level before moving to Division I.

As a Division II program, Shea-Poli guided the Warriors to a 29-11 record in two seasons, including a NEC Conference Championship in 2018. As a newly minted Division I program, Shea-Poli guided the Warriors to consecutive wins over Maine and Bryant in 2019. Prior to her tenure at Merrimack, Shea-Poli served as an assistant at Northeastern (2015), Columbia (2014), and New Hampshire (2011-13). She will serve as the program's recruiting coordinator.

The field hockey program also added Tia Rogers as a volunteer assistant coach. Rogers serves as the Development Coordinator with the Brown University Sports Foundation, where she began in 2018.

Prior to arriving at Brown, Rogers served as the head coach of the Bridgewater State field hockey program for five seasons (2014-18). She graduated in 2010 from Bryant with a degree in Communication.

The Bears take on the Bulldogs of Bryant at 4 p.m. on Goldberger Family Field before making a trip to Burlington, Vermont on Sunday to face the Catamounts of UVM at 12 p.m.
