
Football Places Five on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University football's Charlie Dallape (San Francisco, Calif.), Callum Flanders (Braintree, Mass.), Emerson Logie (New Canaan, Conn.), EJ Perry (Andover, Mass.) and Allen Smith (Westerville, Ohio) have earned selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Football Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. All five of Brown's First-team Academic All-District® honorees will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in July.

Dallape, a junior defensive back and Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations concentrator, made 16 tackles (15 solo) in 2019 despite missing time to injury. As a freshman, Dallape played in all 10 games and recorded a touchdown on a fumble recovery.

Flanders, a senior defensive end and Political Science concentrator, made 22 total tackles, including 14 solo stops, and also had three quarterback sacks in 2019. Over his career, Flanders transitioned from offensive line to tight end to defensive end.

Logie, a senior tight end and Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations concentrator, gained Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in 2019 and was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society in 2020. He compiled 27 catches for 282 yards and two TDs in 2019.

Perry, a senior quarterback and Sociology concentrator, led the nation in total offense (367.8 yards per game) in 2019. He also set an Ivy League record for total offense (3,678 yards) on his way to First Team All-Ivy honors. From his impressive debut season with the Bears, Perry was a finalist for the Asa Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League Player of the Year.

Smith, a junior running back and Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations concentrator, led the Brown running backs with 550 rushing yards on 118 attempts in 2019 with his eight rushing touchdowns tying for the team lead. He also ran for over 100 yards in two contests in 2019.
