
Brown 2020 Winter Academic All-Ivy Selections Announced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University had 10 student-athletes garner Winter Academic All-Ivy accolades in an announcement made by the Ivy League on Thursday. The five men and five women were key contributors to their respective winter teams with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.
Senior Coley Sullivan of the men's swimming & diving team earned the honor for the second consecutive season while Zion Lewis of the women's track & field team picked up her second career honor after garnering Academic All-Ivy in 2019 for outdoor track.
MEN
Michael Coppolino | Track & Field | Senior | Cumberland, R.I. | Applied Mathematics-Computer Science
- Finished third in the 35lb. weight throw at the Ivy League Championships … His throw at the championships was the fifth best all-time at Brown … Won the weight throw at the URI Invite.
Zach Hunsaker | Basketball | Senior | North Salt Lake, Utah | Economics and Portuguese and Brazilian Studies
- Team captain … Tied for second in the Ivy League in steals per game (1.5) and ranked 13th in points per game (12.3) … Scored a career-high 27 points in his final game … Selected Ivy League Player of the Week.
Maximo Moyer | Squash | Junior | Berwyn, Pa. | Applied Mathematics-Economics
- Won his match at Middlebury in the No. 1 spot, clinching the team win for the Bears in the fifth game … Won his match at No. 17 MIT in the top position.
Gavin Nieto | Hockey | Senior | Yorba Linda, Calif. | Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations
- Named Second Team All-Ivy … Recorded two shutouts during the season … Reached the 30-plus save mark eight times ... Named ECAC Goalie of the Week ... Started 27 games.
Coley Sullivan | Swimming & Diving | Senior | Louisville, Ky. | Applied Mathematics-Economics
- Broke the 200 backstroke (finished third) and 800 freestyle relay school records at the Ivy League Championships … Also competed in the 100 backstroke, 200 IM, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay at Ivies … Team captain.
WOMEN
Justine Gaziano | Basketball | Senior | Natick, Mass. | Sociology
- Earned Second Team All-Ivy honors … Team captain … Ranked fourth in the Ivy League in points per game (16.5), fourth in 3-point percentage (.357), fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.3), and fourth in minutes per game (33.6).
Emma Hansen | Gymnastics | Junior | Cincinnati, Ohio | Health and Human Biology
- Earned First Team All-ECAC on beam ... Garnered ECAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year laurels ... Gained Second Team All-Ivy Classic on beam ... Earned ECAC All-Academic Team and USAG Scholar-Athlete honors.
Zion Lewis | Track & Field | Senior | Canton, Ga. | Political Science
- Northeast Regional Female Field Athlete of the Year … Named Most Outstanding Field Performer at the Ivy League Championships … Won the triple jump at Ivies, setting the all-time Ivy League, school and facility record on her way to First Team honors.
Taylor Seaman | Swimming & Diving | Junior | Brighton, Mich. | Psychology
- Earned Second Team All-Ivy honors for finishing second in both the 100 freestyle and the 100 backstroke, breaking her own school record in the 100 back, at the Ivy League Championships … Also took third in the 50 freestyle at Ivies.

- Ivy League Champion in the 400m with her time ranking fourth all-time at Brown … First Team All-Ivy selection in the 400m … Set a school record as part of the 4x400m relay team at the BU Valentine Invite.
