Favorite experience as a Brown student-athlete?
"The highlight of my time as an athlete at Brown has been our yearly training trip to Wellington, Florida! The weather is always beautiful, and it is such a nice way to both mentally and physically prepare for the spring show season. I love the downtime we have as a team and also getting the chance to see everyone ride. I feel like I have such a strong relationship with all of my teammates, and the trip is always a fun way to catch up with everyone after winter break."
Â
Favorite class at Brown?
"The best class I have ever taken at Brown was Nudge: Social Psychology for Social Change. The seminar explored all the ways in which people can be 'nudged' to make decisions for the benefit of themselves, society, etc., while still retaining total autonomy over the decision. As a public health concentrator, I was interested in how the built environment can impact childhood nutrition during the school day. Current research being done has shown that nudges such as offering healthier options first, putting fruit at eye-level rather than sweets, and changing lighting/displays can influence the foods that students fill their plates with. I find myself not only noticing nudges at work in the world all the time, but also plan to employ this knowledge in my future public health work!"
