Spring Senior Spotlight: Jenna Soenksen, Rugby

Brown University athletics will be recognizing the senior student-athletes who had their spring seasons canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two senior student-athletes will be featured each weekday on Brownbears.com and various social media platforms, starting on Wednesday, April 1, through the end of May.

Favorite experience as a Brown student-athlete?
"One of my favorite experiences as a student-athlete on the Brown rugby team would be the jersey ceremonies we do before each game. Earning a spot on the roster and being able to wear a jersey is a privilege, so the tradition of having coaches hand them out before matches is very much a tradition about honoring that specific jersey and that number and everyone who has come before you. It's something that really creates a sense of legacy and pride, so I'll never forget that."

Favorite class at Brown?
"My favorite class at Brown has been CSCI125, Intro to Computer Animation! The projects are super fun and it showed me a meaningful way to combine art and technology."
