Women’s Golf Wraps-up Play at Match Madness

Blandburg, N.J. – The Brown women's golf team competed in a unique match-play competition at the par 70, 5827-yard Fox Hollow Golf Club, playing matches against Harvard, Dartmouth and Columbia.

The Bears opened on Saturday with a close loss vs. Harvard, 3.5-2.5, with freshman Pinya Pipatjarasgit winning 3&2 at number two, and sophomore Naomi Lee earning a 2&1 win at number three. Freshman Roshannah Gaur ended her match all square for a half point.

Saturday's second match against Dartmouth resulted in a 3.5-2.5 victory for the Bears. Sophomore Brittany Park made five birdies and won her match 5&4, while Lee won again on the last hole, earning a 1-up victory. Freshman Hailey Freedman earned a half in her match, and Pipatjarasgit birdied the 18th-hole to secure a 2-up win.

Match Madness wrapped up on Sunday with the Bears falling to Columbia, 5-1. Freedman and Park each earned a half-point for the Bears with all square matches.

The Bears will take a week off in preparation for the Ivy League Championship, April 19-21, at The Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, NJ.
