Ta, Tan Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's tennis senior Katie Ta and men's tennis senior Charles Tan have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 24-31, Brown announced on Tuesday.

Katie Ta, Women's Tennis, Senior, San Marino, Calif.
Senior Katie Ta went 2-0 in singles play this week for the Bears. The Mission Viejo, Calif., native opened the week at Davidson with a 7-6, 7-5 win. She followed that performance by decisively winning her match against Yale on Saturday, 6-2, 6-2, in the beginning of conference action. Ta is currently on a five-match win streak.

Charles Tan, Men's Tennis, Senior, Austin, Texas
Senior Charles Tan helped the Bears defeat Yale on Sunday, with the clinching singles victory, to open Ivy League play. Tan came from behind against the Bulldogs, winning 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5). The Austin, Texas native also won his doubles match versus Yale with teammate Roger Chou, 6-3. Tan and Chou earned a No. 78 national doubles ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in the last rankings.
