
Brown 2018-19 Winter Academic All-Ivy Selections Announced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University had 10 student-athletes garner Winter Academic All-Ivy accolades in an announcement made by the Ivy League on Thursday. The five men and five women were key contributors to their respective winter teams with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.
Senior Shayna Mehta of women's basketball earned the honor for a second consecutive season.
MEN
Ian Butterbrodt | Wrestling | Senior | North Andover, Mass. | Biology
- First Team All-Ivy ... Advanced to the round of 12 at the NCAA Championships ... Placed second at 285 pounds at the 2019 EIWA Championships.

- Second Team All-Ivy ... Led the team in power-play goals, game-winning goals, blocked shots and a +8 rating as a defenseman ... Assistant captain.

- First Team All-Ivy ... Won the long jump for the second straight year at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships ... Broke the school record in the event ... It was also the fourth-best mark in Heps meet history.

- Second Team All-Ivy ... Broke his own school record in the 100 backstroke at the Ivy League Championships, finishing second ... Also finished third in the 200 backstroke and fifth in the 200 IM at Ivies ... Broke the 200 IM school record at Ivies along with four relay records ... Captain.

- Honorable Mention All-Ivy ... Finished her career with 1,785 points, ranking second in program history – and 11th in Ivy League history ... Ranked third in the league in points per game (16.5), first in steals per game (3.2), first in minutes per game (35.9), third in assists per game (4.3), and fifth in 3-pointers made per game (2.2).
