PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's soccer junior goalkeeper Kayla Thompson and football junior quarterback EJ Perry have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Nov. 11-17, Brown announced on Monday.

Junior goalkeeper Kayla Thompson made six saves in regulation then stopped two shots in the penalty kick shootout, playing a key role as No. 16 Brown topped Monmouth in penalty kicks, 4-1, to advance to the second round of the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. A native of Austin, Texas, Thompson tied her career high in saves to keep the game scoreless through double overtime then stymied the Hawks' second and third penalty kick attempts as the Bears hosted their first NCAA tournament game since 1994. She posted her ninth shutout of the season and ranks fourth in the NCAA in save percentage (.911) and sixth in GAA (0.34) for the year.

Junior quarterback EJ Perry accounted for 334 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, leading Brown to a 48-24 win at Columbia on Saturday. A native of Andover, Mass., Perry set a single-season program record with 3,264 yards of total offense – also ranking sixth in the Ivy League record book – with one game still to play. Against the Lions, Perry completed 24-of-39 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 34 rushing yards and a score on 12 carries. He threw three consecutive touchdown passes in the third quarter, turning a 28-24 lead into a 48-24 advantage.
