Providence, R.I. – Brown's 2018 football schedule has been finalized with a couple of new wrinkles, including a switch to ESPN+ for all its video broadcasts. The Bears launch their season with a Friday evening match-up with Cal Poly on the West Coast, continue with a nationally televised Friday night game against Harvard at Brown Stadium, and will swap their final two Ivy opponents at the end of the season.
Brown kicks-off its season with back-to-back Friday night games. The Bears head to San Luis Obispo, California to open their season on Friday, September 14 against Cal Poly at 7:00 pm PDT. The Ivy League season opens on Friday evening, September 21 on the East Side with Brown hosting Harvard on ESPNU at 7:00 pm.
Coach Phil Estes' squad will renew its series with Georgetown, hosting the Hoyas at Brown Stadium on Saturday, September 29. Brown's non-league schedule concludes with an October 6 Governor's Cup match-up with the University of Rhode Island in the 103rdgame between the two Ocean State schools.
The Bears will also host Ivy League home games against Cornell (October 20), Penn (October 27) and Columbia (November 10).
Brown will also play at Princeton (October 13) and at Yale (November 3). Brown had concluded its Ivy schedule against Columbia on the final day of the season for the last 37 years, but a change in the Ivy schedule has the Bears finishing up against Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire, on November 17.
All Brown home games, with the exception of its nationally televised game against Harvard, and Ivy League away games, will be available to Brown fans on ESPN+, a direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service from Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International in partnership with ESPN and featuring ESPN branded content.
