Equestrian Closes Team Competition for Season at Ivy Show

HANOVER, N.H. – Brown University equestrian tallied four blue ribbons and 13 total top-three finishes in its final team competition of the season at the Ivy Show on Saturday at Dartmouth College's Dartmouth Riding Center.

Senior Sara Nordstrom (Medina, Wash.), senior Madison Kuhn (Lancaster, Pa.), junior Wallace Douglas (Ipswich, Mass.), and sophomore Leah Peipert (St. Louis, Mo.) all registered first-place finishes over the course of the day.

As a team, Brown placed third.

In open fences, freshman Hannah Woolley (Medfield, Mass.) finished second in her opening class before placing fourth in the championship class while sophomore Hannah Guevara (Pasadena, Calif.) came in third prior to placing sixth in the championship class. Nordstrom notched a fifth-place finish.

Senior Lily Hertling (Paris, France) and senior Caroline Marks (Seattle, Wash.) both came in fifth in intermediate fences.

Nordstrom paced Brown on open flat, winning her initial class before finishing third in the championship class. Guevara and senior Victoria Flagg (Great Falls, Va.) notched fourth and fifth-place finishes apiece.

In intermediate flat, Woolley and senior Anna Seto (Barrington, R.I.) led the way with second and third-place performances respectively. Marks and Hertling each came in fourth while sophomore Renee Seto (Barrington, R.I.) finished sixth.

Kuhn posted a first-place showing to open novice fences prior to finishing third in the championship class. Junior Katrina Heilbroner (New York, N.Y.) placed second before coming in sixth at the championship level. Senior Elizabeth Rao (Andover, Mass.) and Douglas came in third and fifth respectively.

Douglas won her class in novice flat while Rao supported her with a third-place finish. In walk-trot, Peipert won her class.

Next, Brown will compete at the IHSA National Championships at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa., from May 3-6.
