Men's Tennis Bests UC Davis, 6-1

DAVIS, Calif. - The Brown men's tennis team closed out its spring break trip with a 6-1 win over UC Davis on Saturday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The victory moves the Bears to 14-5 on the season.
Brown opened the match with consecutive wins in second and third doubles to take a 1-0 lead. Freshman Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) and senior Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) took second doubles, 6-4, while junior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) and freshman Ben Collier (Darien, Conn.) teamed up to capture the third match, 7-5.
Tan gave the Bears a 2-0 advantage with a 6-2, 6-2 showing in fourth singles. Sophomore Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) followed in the sixth spot, 6-3, 6-2, and sophomore Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) added a 6-3, 7-6 win in second singles. Lam came back to win his third singles match, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10) before UC Davis picked up its lone victory in the fifth spot. Senior Jack Haworth (Corby, England) capped off the Bears' performance with a 7-6 (2), 6-7 (8), 1-0 (6) win in first singles.
The Bears next open Ivy League play and will host Harvard on Friday, April 6 for a 2:00 p.m. match before traveling to Dartmouth on Sunday, April 8 for a 1:00 p.m. match.
