
Equestrian Opens Spring Season at URI Show

GALES FERRY, Conn. – Senior Anna Seto and sophomore Renee Seto each won a blue ribbon as Brown University equestrian opened its spring season at the University of Rhode Island IHSA Show on Saturday at Mystic Valley Hunt Club.
Anna Seto (Barrington, R.I.) and Renee Seto (Barrington, R.I.) placed first in intermediate fences and novice flat respectively to lead the Bears.
In open fences, senior Annaliese Fries (Kirkland, Wash.) came in third while senior captain Victoria Flagg (Great Falls, Va.) finished fourth. Flagg added a fifth-place finish in open flat. Senior Lily Hertling (Paris, France) posted a fourth-place finish in novice fences and a sixth-place finish in intermediate flat.
In novice flat, junior captain Wallace Douglas (Ipswich, Mass.) came in second while senior Alejandra Zamora (New Canaan, Conn.) placed third. Senior Elizabeth Rao (Andover, Mass.), senior Caroline Marks (Seattle, Wash.), and junior Katrina Heilbroner (New York, N.Y.) finished fourth, fourth, and fifth respectively.
In the team standings, Brown came in fourth place.
Next, Brown competes at the Assumption College IHSA Show on Sunday, Mar. 11 at Nora Harris Equestrian in Tiverton, R.I.
