
Women's Tennis Defeated by Boston College, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's tennis team, competing in its second match in as many days, was defeated by Syracuse, 5-2, on Sunday at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Boston College was able to win the doubles point by claiming victories in first and third doubles. Freshman Courtney Kowalsky (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and senior Maddie Stearns (Short Hills, N.J.) recorded a win for the Bears in the round, a 7-5 showing in the second spot.
The Eagles were then able to capture four of the six singles matches to hold on for the win. Senior Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted a 6-2, 6-1 win in first singles while junior Katie Ta (Mission Viejo, Calif.) also registered a win in sixth singles, 7-5, 6-2.
The Bears next travel to No. 46 TCU on Saturday, March 3 for a 2:00 p.m. ET match and then take on Middle Tennessee at TCU on Sunday, March 4 at 11:00 p.m. ET.
