Strong Showing For Men's Golf At The Invitational at Savannah Harbor

When the Brown men's golf team looks back at its first tournament of the fall season, the Invitational at Savannah Harbor, Bears' coach Mike Hughes will be please with the stead improvement at the 54-hole tournament. Brown shot scores of 307-303-298--908 to place 14th in the first time the Bears had gotten outside to play golf since putting the clubs away in November.
WIlliam & Mary captured the team championship with a 54-hole 854, followed by Austin Peay (857), South Carolina Beaufort (862), North Dakota State (877), Bethune Cookman (879), Butler (880), Ohio (884), Tennessee Tech (884), Fort Wayne (887), Belmont (892), Savannah State (893), Omaha (903), Brown (908), Florida A&M (916), Valparaiso (918).
Drew Powell paced the Bears and placed 34th individually with scores of 74-77-72--223, while Kevin Li posted scores of 77-73-74--224 for a 39th place finish.
Sasha Lobel showed strong improvment in every round, shooting 79-75-73--227. Bryan Hong came in at 77-78-79--234 and Kenneth Li shot 80-79-80.
Brown is back in action again on its spring break, travbeling to California for a match against Loyola Marymount on March 29.
