Brown Football Earns All-Ivy Honors

Providence, R.I. – Seven members of the Brown football team have been named to the 2018 All-Ivy Football Team by a vote of the eight Ancient Eight football coaches. Senior tight end Anton Casey (Bethesda, MD), senior defensive tackle Daryle Banfield (Bronx, NY) and senior punter Ryan Kopec (Alpharetta, GA) earned Second Team All-Ivy honors, while senior linebacker Daniel Aidman (Austin, TX), senior offensive guard Logan Winders (Springfield, IL), junior wide receiver Livingstone Harriott (Central Islip, NY) and junior offensive tackle Phil Lynch (Milton, MA) were selected Honorable Mention All-Ivy.
Casey's 26 receptions for 328 yards ranked fourth on the Brown team, despite missing three games due to injury. Brown's team captain, Casey made six catches for 92 yards vs. Yale and registered four catches for 69 yards vs. Cornell. He made a game high six receptions for 61 yards vs. Cal Poly and hauled in four catches for 64 yards vs. Harvard, including a 29-yard TD catch.
Banfield has stood out as a mainstay on the Bears defensive line for the last two years. He made37 total tackles in 2018, including 3.5 for a loss and a quarterback sack. Banfield registered a season high eight tackles vs. Cal Poly. He had five tackles vs. Penn, four tackles vs. Columbia, and three vs. Yale, Harvard and Georgetown.
Kopec earned Second Team All-Ivy honors for the second straight season with a 38.5 yards per punt average, third best in the Ivy League. His 72-yard punt vs. Penn ranks eighth all-time at Brown and was the second longest punt in the Ivy League this season. A CoSIDA Academic All-District Team selection, he nailed a 67-yard punt vs. #17 Rhode Island, averaging 43.1 yards per punt on eight punts.
Aidman led the Ivy League with 91 tackles, including 41 solo stops. He had nine solo tackles vs. Columbia after making nine tackles, including eight solo stops vs. Yale. He registered nine tackles vs. Princeton and had nine tackles, including one for a loss, while forcing a fumble vs. Penn. He came up with a big outing vs. Cal Poly with 14 total tackles, including six solo stops.
Harriott was Brown's leading receiver with 31 receptions and 413 receiving yards. He made a 52-yard touchdown grab vs. Columbia and caught five passes for 76 yards vs. Yale. Playing out of the wildcat offense, Harriott rushed for a season-high 73 yards vs. Cornell, including a 65-yard touchdown scamper, while making a 56-yard reception. He made a career high nine catches for 117 yards vs. Princeton.
Winders and Lynch have been mainstays of the Bears offensive line for the last two years. The duo helped block for 220 passing yards per game, fourth best in the Ivy League.
