Equestrian Places Third in Fall Finale at Assumption Show

OXFORD, Mass. – Brown University equestrian placed third as a team at the Assumption IHSA Show on Saturday at Four Winds Farm, concluding its fall competition season.

As a team, the Bears placed in the top three at all six of their shows in the fall. On Saturday, the Bears earned three blue ribbons and totaled eight top-three finishes.

In open fences, junior Hannah Guevara (Pasadena, Calif.) took first place, and sophomore Hannah Woolley (Medfield, Mass.) captured second place. In open flat Guevara gained second, and Woolley claimed third.

Junior Renee Seto (Barrington, R.I.) garnered a blue ribbon in intermediate flat, and freshman Clara Louvet (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) supported her in the division with a third-place finish.

In novice fences, senior Katrina Heilbroner (New York, N.Y.) came in second while Seto placed sixth.

Heilbroner led the Bears in novice flat with a first-place showing. Freshmen Siena Capone (Birmingham, Mich.) and Elena Newman (Gainesville, Fla.) each placed sixth in the division.

In walk-trot-canter, senior Yinan Liu (Shanghai, China) and junior Rebecca Lee (Guilford, Conn.) both came in fourth, and junior Lauren Raynor (Chappaqua, N.Y.) finished sixth. In walk-trot, junior Leah Peipert (St. Louis, Mo.) and freshman Maya Taylor (Albuquerque, N.M.) came in second and fourth respectively.

Next, Brown will resume competition in the spring.
