LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Brown women's tennis team had their three-match win streak snapped by Long Beach State in a 5-2 defeat at the Rhodes Tennis Center on Thursday.
Long Beach State claimed the doubles point to open the match with wins in second and third doubles.
In singles play, Long Beach State came back to defeat senior Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) in first singles, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. The Bears picked up single wins in the second and sixth spot. Junior Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif.) took care of second singles with a 6-3, 7-5 showing while sophomore Katie Ta (Mission Viejo, Calif.) posted a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) victory in sixth singles.
The Bears next return home and open Ivy League play against Yale on Sunday, April 2 in a 1:00 p.m. match.
